Welcome to Isaiah's "I"s

That may seem like a strange title for a blog, but once you read the details you will understand.

Isaiah is my grandson and he was diagnosed PDD-NOS about 16 months ago. He came to live with us when he was nearly three and he had a very limited vocabulary. He also did not make much eye contact with others, did not appear to hear when spoken to, and did not like change, textures, or a slew of other things.

He was assessed by our school system as being developmentally delayed (failed all of the tests for his age) and was referred to the early education program. He flourished during the two years he was in the program and has started kindergarten this year. He does have a para who works with him for 2-3 hours each day, five days a week. He is mainstreamed but still receives some additional services such as speech.
